libglade-2.0.so.0 issue on 12.04 x64

I seem to have hit a minor slump here with this library file. The app I’m running is asking for it and after using sudo apt-get install libglade2-0 I’m told I already have the latest version. When I execute the program pSX I’m given this error:

Code:

./pSX: error while loading shared libraries: libglade-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I tested this in a VM of 12.10 and it works no problem but my 12.04 desktop keeps throwing off this error. Any suggestion on how I could fix this up? I also tried sudo apt-get install libgtkglext1-dev but it says "is already the newest".

[ubuntu] Enlightenment (E17) issue with libcore1

I recently installed Ubuntu variant Pinguy 12.04 and the Gnome 3 desktop is extremely buggy. I decided to try Enlightenment E17 and it works perfectly. The only tweak I needed (wanted) was to add comp-scale, which I added from the following ppa.

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/hannes-jane…ent-svn/ubuntu precise main deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/hannes-jane…ent-svn/ubuntu precise main

After reloading synaptic I installed the following package:

emodule-comp-scale

I now have 7 broken packages. It looks like the main issue is with the libecore1 versions.

Here is the error along with the terminal output. Any help is greatly appreciated.

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/libecore1_201210092056-5139~precise1_amd64.deb: trying to overwrite ‘/usr/lib/libecore_fb.so.1′, which is also in package libecore-fb1 1.0.0-2.1

Here is the terminal output:

Linux Kernel Power Issue Fix

As you probably already know, the Linux Kernel has a pretty significant power issue starting with version 2.6.38 which hasn’t been fixed yet (this includes version 3.0.0). This bug causes power consumption to go up by nearly 30% (and hence a shorter battery life) as reported by Phoronix which is pretty bad for netbook / laptop users.

Well, Phoronix has found a way around this bug so below I’ll tell you the exact steps you must follow to finally fix this issue.

[other] grub boot issue

Hi all !

I don’t know if it’s the best place to post this, but i experienced a grub issue :P
I installed ubuntu in windows XP from installation cd but i already had Debian in dual boot with windows, but trying to format my debian partition made me lose grub, i don’t know how but when i boot my pc now i get a grub rescue console : /

It says

Welcome to GRUB!

error: file not found
Entering rescue mode…
grub rescue>

i put my root in (hd0,4)
root=(hd0,4)

then

ls (hd0,4)/boot
./../ Sytem.map-2.6.26-2-686 config-2.6.26-2-686 vmlinuz-2.6.26-2-686 initrd.img-2.6.26-2-686

i don’t know how to load the kernel since i seem to have no grub folder in that partition…
Can I find a way to boot from a ubuntu live CD or somethink like that from grub rescue ?
Since linux command does not work to load kernel, how can i load my kernel so i can install grub : D

Thanks in advance,

Glaucos
