I opened some .deb packages with the File Roller and noticed that they conained different files, one English version, one French etc. Obviously I can edit the wording in those files and reinstall the programs, but I wonder if its possible to change the files while they are installed on my computer? Lets assume that I have a web service and dont want to shut it down to reinstall everything.
I "solved" the problem by changing the reserved space for root (tune2fs) to give myself some space to work. I then was able to graphically log into Gnome and delete some files and free up some space. I then put my reserve space for root back so I have a way out in the future.

Thoughts & suggestions appreciated.
